hey, sorry i didnt reply to this one. the thick leaves in the first one dont really feel all that natural. they look a bit more of flaps with some detailing on them. try and follow the same rules as plants we are familiar with. stems, veins, patterning, insertion points. these are what will allow the viewer to connect to it and understand it as a plant.
the second one is kind of all over the place. each part seems like a unique piece to something different. it almost looks more like a character than a plant. think a bit more simple, you dont want your foliage to out shine your characters in complexity
