Mm I actually like the form that you have in your little thumbnail on the top left better than the final design. I think its silhouette has more interest with the neck and tail. You could always experiment with those proportions in zbrush.
I agree with nicole, go with that top left silhouette for sure. As for the color scheme, orange/yellow pops a little more. Plus using those bright colors make him look a little more intimidating. Maybe try taking a look at poisonous snakes for some ideas?
I know this is late but here is my creature concept. I hope to have most of it modeled out by Monday. I'm still unsure of the colors.
