Need more time! Urrg! (And yes that with an Orc voice)

Alright, here is another pass on this Char. Done away with the old design since it wasn't good enough and gone for a more organic and primitive feel. What's on her head and back isn't exactly an armor per se but a mutualistic/parasitic symbiosis. (If that actually happens on Earth but hey it's alien) During youth, the thing is ritualistically attached to the body and will grow with the host. It will meld with the host by connect itself to the circulation system and live on the blood of the host while its own biological byproducts(useful for the host) becomes literally "power-ups" for the host. The nervous system is also melded so that the thing can act as a bio AI. So that's a short "bio" on this alien

Design wise, I think I need to tweak more on proportion between the two and of course more work on the "thing"

That's all for now...

  1. like i was saying last night, right now the head reads as very heavy graphically. so there are 2 things you can do to solve this. either ramp that up even more, like give the creature some sort of wing or frill that comes off of the side. this will make the headpiece a large ornate figure, then just make sure you dont go too crazy with the body and keep the face simple. or number 2, you can make the skull piece smaller and have a way for the alien to merge into it more.

also from class, give the alien some hips and a torso/chest. right now he is more of built like a bondage strap. he needs to be his own stand alone creature as well.

last is the angled elements around the crotch and breast. they are a bit too geometric at the moment. too regular in pattern. try varying them up a bit more and less straight.

  2. I was trying to post on your design yesterday and I ended up getting distracted instead. What I was going to say is your character looks too bulky. As Gavin said, the head is a bit heavy. Everything is so proportional it becomes a bit too much. Honestly, you should stretch her out a bit. I will post a picture of a reference that you might want to take into consideration proportion wise.
